I have been working since 1982 as a nursing home physiotherapist. The neurological patient and particularly the CVA patient have been my passion over the course of the years. Since 2012 I have been working in a Geriatric Rehabilitation unit belonging to De Zorggroep (Limburg) and in primary care I mainly treat CVA patients. I also spend a few hours treating people with dementia in a couple of group residential housing units.

The NDT initially formed the basis of my treatment of CVA patients. This has since developed in line with new insights within neurorehabilitation, which are always modified if new evidence becomes available. As a lecturer I have been providing courses for many years on neurorehabilitation for health care employees from the various links in the CVA chain. Within the "Neurorehabilitation for CNS disorders” course I put my knowledge and practical experience to use for physiotherapists. I am, in addition a lecturer at Avans+ in the Master's course Geriatric physiotherapy and I am a member of the Working Party on Education and Schooling of Knowledge Network CVA Netherlands.
